About me

I am a second year Graphic Design student studying at Loughbrorough University with a strong passion for being hands-on and experimental in my creative approach to design. My true creative interest is in illustration for children's books, where I love playing with characters, visual narratives, colour and media experimentation. While my strongest skills are set in traditional methods; such as watercolour and ink, I am also motivated to improve my digital skills and explore new ways to bring ideas to life.

I have experience in working with children and young people between the ages 6-17 both professionally and in my personal life. I have worked as an arts and crafts camp councelor in an American sleep away camp for three months, where I developed my skills in leadership and communication. I will be returning this summer as head of the creative arts department.

I received a distinction in a ULA art and design foundation course where i practiced both conventional and unconventional ways of thinking and working. I was encouraged to venture out of my comfort zone to try new things which is what impacts my way of working now. I wrote and illustrated my own children's picture book 'When I am Kind...' for my final major project which suggests different ways children can be kind to themselves and those around them and how this positively impacts them.

I have future aspirations of working in art therapy along side writing and illustrating picture books for children.
